As most Union Safety Reps aware, the Institute of Safety and Health has work specific occupational groups that specialise in their specific work areas; offering safety advice and guidance to USR's and health and safety professionals.

One such group, the Mast and Tower Safety Group, is made up of safety professionals from companies who own and manage broadcast and telecommunication infrastructure in the UK.

The group has now launched their own website.

The main focus is on work at height and radio frequency safety with the aim to create industry guidance and best practice for infrastructure owners, site sharers and contractors. 

The new website provides details of the companies supporting the group which is also attended by a representative from the Health and Safety Executive. It also has the first guidance documents that have been published covering topics such as work at height training, medicals for climbers and guidance on creating a good RF policy.
